I met Liz the owner of Joy Macarons while we working next to each other at the White Rock Local Market this summer. It doesn’t take me long to want to be best friends with the person standing next to me…and Liz is one of the nicest people you ever did meet. After the market we took home several boxes of macarons…and we ate them way too fast. A month or so later we attended a block party in our neighborhood and she had a pop up shop there, which is now the location of her new place.
Its kind of amazing! The build out is incredible with the industrial brick walls, high ceilings, modern glass kitchen and kick ass neon light (everyone has one. and i want one.) We went the first day they were open, thanks to their instagram page for letting us know. I just took a couple of photos with my iPhone, but expect more on my instagram feed..because the best part of all…its walking distance from my house.

This perfectly pink macaron is filled with deep red jam made from fresh raspberries.
Our homage to the Chocolate Chip cookie. We fill this macaron with Chocolate chip cookie dough frosting and top with mini milk chocolate chips.
